Little Suzies

The children's line - The Suzie, name for my grandmother who taught me to sew - has been opened. The dresses below were created for the first badger game, but can be made form any child's shirt and in any team's coordinating fabric. These would be perfect for Tiger and Reddie games as well. Football season opens this week so make sure your littlest fans look their best!

Repurposing with a Purpose

Repurpose - to give new purpose, to convert to a new format for use. That's how the dictionary defines it, this is how I see it - taking something that has been tossed out and creating it into something usable.

In the summer of 2008, I was diagnosed with cancer. I felt useless, damaged and definately unusable. But, as I was continually encouraged by family, friends and doctors, I quickly realized that I could take this amazing calling in my life and make something new out of it. Thankfully, after a series of treatments, I was put in remission, but that journey still remains an important part of who I am.

During 2011, I served along with 19 other cancer survivors in an American Cancer Society program called Heroes of Hope. While the word HERO seemed like such a heavy title, I quickly realized that it was more about being an Ambassador. It was about representing those who could not form words to describe their journey, those who carried us through our own journeys and those who gave their life fighting through the journey. K Cutie Designs gives me a way to creatively use the platform of fashion and design to share my story. I also donate a portion from each dress sold to the American Cancer Society to continue to fund research until we find a cure!
